Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 lb steak, thinly sliced
- 3 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the steak slices, season with salt and pepper, and stir-fry until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add shrimp and cook until pink and cooked through. Remove and set aside with the steak.
- Add sesame oil to the skillet and sauté garlic and onion until softened, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in peas and carrots, cooking for 2-3 minutes until tender.
- Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and pour in beaten eggs. Scramble until fully cooked.
- Add the cooked rice, mix well with vegetables and eggs, and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Return the steak and shrimp to the skillet, stir everything together, and drizzle with soy sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
Notes
- Use day-old rice for the best texture—it’s less sticky and fries up nicely.
- Want extra flavor? Add a splash of oyster sauce or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for some heat.
- You can easily substitute other proteins like chicken or tofu, or switch up the veggies based on what you have on hand.
